Through decades, across high winds, droughts e and wartimes we’ve kept the same vision: growth & commitment to community.
Our first bank stood in a simple wood-frame building in a new community called Hinton. Leading the way was Harrison Miller, a young entrepreneur from Kansas with a firm belief: every deposit is a vote of trust. He opened the doors to the people who powered the local economy, offering personal service and solutions that fit real needs.
In 1908, we reopened on the very same corner that remains home to Hinton office of Legacy Bank’s today. Year after year, that address became a symbol of stability and trust built on long-term relationships.
In 1954, Mr. Miller sold the bank to Robert S. Carmack of Gould, OK, keeping ownership close to home. In 1975, Stephen Carmack returned to join his father and today serves as our third CEO, carrying forward a tradition of prudent, people-first banking
For nearly 40 years, Mr. Carmack led the bank with a clear vision: growth & commitment to community. Under his guidance we modernized services, expanded relationships, and strengthened the trust that defines us.
In 1993, we became Legacy, a name chosen to honor Robert S. Carmack and his wife, Oleta. Few things symbolize significant, sustained growth like a tree, especially the post oak. It’s hardiness and stability made it popular among the pioneers who chose it for their fence posts, thus giving it its name..
Resilience through wars, winds, droughts, and the Great Depression. Under Mr. Miller’s leadership, we navigated the century’s toughest seasons. When uncertainty rose, we chose to stand with the community
